Community Initiatives

  • Junior JiversJunior Jivers
    Junior Jivers is a half hour music and movement group for children under five, meeting every Monday during public school terms in the Erskineville Anglican Church building.
  • Food Ministry
    Fresh and frozen food made available for those in need on Thursdays afternoons
  • Graveyard Youth
    Graveyard youth is for students in Year 6-8 and meets Fridays 5-7pm at Newtown
  • Bike Shed
    Community bike repairs and bike donations for asylum seekers - open every first and last Saturday 11:30am-2pm under the fig tree at Newtown Church.
  • Community Garden 
    A community garden to enjoy or potter in - runs every Saturday from 10:30am. Behind the cottage at Newtown Church.
  • We Belong
    A Friday night program for intellectually disabled adults. Runs fortnightly at Newtown Hall.
  • Bereavement
    Support for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. 10am last Friday of every month

    A free English conversation group. Make friends and practise your English for everyday life. First and last Saturday of each month, 11am - 12pm.
